We host three types of events at Tim's Wine Market's Orlando location.
- Our "Masterclass" events are seated, lecture format programs that take a deep dive into specific wine regions and/or grape varieties. These are classroom style tastings conducted in flights with a power point presentation that guides your experience. We also provide cheese and bread at these events.
- Our more frequently conducted programs we call "Tastings In The Round" which are casual events with seating, typically with a special guest. For "Tastings In The Round" you can drop in and leave at your leisure. There is no food provided at these events so please plan accordingly.
- Events that are defined as "Open House" are not seated events as there are typically multiple stations with wine being poured at the same time. Unless otherwise noted in the description of the event, there is no food provided at these events.

We recently landed a diverse selection of wines from our friend Johannes Selbach, one of the most important winemakers in Germany. Since assuming control of his family winery in the 1990s, he has acquired several top sites in the Mosel region, resulting in one of the most impressive portfolios we know. JP will lead us through a tasting where we will explore the region through nine wines and a sparkling wine, demonstrating why you should become better acquainted with this marvelous variety. The first flight will compare examples of dry and off-dry predicate and non-predicate wines. Our second flight will feature three 2024 Kabinetts from three neighboring villages. Finally, we will finish with a flight of Grosses Gewächs (Grand Cru) sites as well as their oldest vine parcel. This is going to be an amazing night, but space is limited. Buy Tickets Here

We hosted a representative from this winery in February as part of our Winter Extravaganza, but now we will have the owner, Sandra Tavares da Silva, in-house. Along with her husband, Jorge Serôdio Borges, they are producing some of the most modern and articulate examples of wines from the Douro River Valley of Portugal. This tasting will take a look at their entry-level wines, Chocapalha, as well as their estate bottlings from Wine and Soul. Stop in and meet Sandra; she is lovely and does a great job presenting her wines.

In the fall of 2018, I was fortunate to spend seven days in northern Italy visiting more than a dozen estates. On this evening, eight of the winemakers or winery owners I visited will be here for another Ivanhoe Row open tasting. We will be showcasing at least 24 wines, and the pouring stations will be set up across Ivanhoe Row, with different wineries presenting in my neighbors' stores. Not only is this an amazing chance to meet the people who make many of our top-selling wines, but it’s also an opportunity to meet our neighbors! These events sell out fast, so don’t wait too long to buy your tickets.

Our original location on Orange Avenue opened in October of 1995. It features a curated selection of over 1,300 imported and domestic wines, including a broad selection of rare wines from lesser-known places and grape varieties. You will also find an extensive selection of natural wines, Pet-Nats, fortified wines, and aromatized wines from Vermouth to Americano. Each of our dedicated staff has completed the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 to offer you an unparalleled level of expertise.
Tim grew up in Butler, Pennsylvania, leaving in 1985 to attend the University of Central Florida. While pursuing his finance degree at UCF, he worked many odd jobs until falling in love with wine and food while working for Pebbles in 1989. After graduation, Tim worked at the Wine Merchant of Altamonte Springs and ran Dexter’s wine shop before opening Tim’s Wine Market in 1995. When he’s not working, he loves to read, cook and grow his garden. He is often traveling with his wife, Susan, to visit their three children: Andrew, Katie and Olivia.
J.P. grew up in Boston, Massachusetts and Washington, DC, eventually falling in love with wine while living with his parents in Naples, Italy. He has successfully attained the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 Award in Wines qualification and is a Spanish Wine Scholar and Certified Sherry Wine Specialist. J.P. is deeply passionate about natural and biodynamic wines and loves introducing clients to these traditional viticulture methods. When he’s not studying or working with wine, he enjoys exploring historic sites, punk rock and the works of Ernest Hemingway.
Dan spent his early career working in restaurants throughout New York and was a practicing restaurateur in New York’s Hudson Valley. He joined our sales team back in 2015 and has always found it rewarding to pair a customer with their perfect wine. Like the rest of our staff, Dan has completed the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 Award in Wines qualification. Dan loves cooking with his wife, Susan, and spends most of Sunday planning their afternoon meal after a bit of gardening.
Carl joined us after a rewarding four decades as a leader at Walt Disney World. He found his passion for wine while opening Disneyland Paris. Born in Nebraska, Carl lived in Idaho, Wyoming and South Carolina before moving to Orlando at a young age. He is a graduate of UCF and Rollins College and also holds his Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 Award in Wines qualification. Carl and his wife, Mandy, love traveling the world and exploring local food and wine. Their daughter, Sara, and son, Luke, often join in while their boxers Alley and Bella stand guard at home. Carl is also an avid cyclist and enjoys cooking.
